NJ/NYC Locksmith For Laser Cut Keys

Anyone know a locksmith in the area that will cut my eBay spare key? As most of you already know, Audi refuses to cut these types of keys. I've call several locksmiths with no luck. Thanks!

I dont think anyone can cut the keys. I thought the laser cut part itself had to be bought from Audi which gets shipped from Germany. They look you up by VIN I believe cut a new one and send them... They do take some time to come and arent exactly cheap for just the key. You only get the top half of the key. So save your bottom half. However The bottom half with the lock unlock buttons can be reprogrammed for any Audi with a few simple steps.

Most dealerships have the equipment to cut spare keys. However, they'll only cut keys purchased from them. They say those eBay keys are made with brass and end up ruining their equipment.

There were some guys on ebay that were cutting the keys from the picture you send them. I know a few people got it done there with great results. I cant find the info but will search.

Keep trying. I found a locksmith on Sunrise near Bohemia that said he could copy my B6 key. I think this was the place.

So I called them up and they can do it for $98. Extremely nice and helpful people over there but I feel the price is too steep just for a spare key.

Am I right? I mean I don't need the immobilizer or fob programmed. I just want the key duplicated..

I'm not sure how much audi would charge but im sure its a bit more than $98 to get a new key cut

if they want 100 dollars for cut, I would rather order it from Audi directly, and have peace of mind because of the OEMness lol

To order a new key from audi will cost you $185 and when the key comes you will have to bring your car in for programing,and it will cost you another $120.

Thats what audi parts guy told me when I called yesterday.

Anybody has any updates on this?! Some audi places were going to charge me $62.50 to program the remote (unlock/lock) from the outside then charge another $62.50 for the car to go mobile!
but luckily i found an Audi place to program everything for $62.50.
I was thinking of the keys in eBay. I only have one key and scared of losing it, breaking, stolen, etc and i'm thinking of getting a remote starter, therefore i need two keys, one spare and one for remote starter. I need the key to be laser cut for the spare to work but don't need it for the remote starter.

Any success story for laser cut?

No its not $100+

It cost me $60 for the metal piece cut from Audi. The ebay one sometimes snap because being made from cheap materials. I bought the transponder online from ebay but gioot the key from Audi. They are cut and shipped from NJ if your from New England.

Classic Audi in Westchester sold a key to me for $25. No key fob, no transponder. Car is a B5/S4.

The last time I needed one cut, I took it to the VW dealer and they charged me $10 to duplicate my key blade. I supplied the blank of course.

Audi had given me the song and dance about how it was $40 for the top half of the key and $100 for the bottom half (transmitter). I was told that I had to buy the $40 top half and they would cut it to match within the $40 charge.

I bought a whole key on ebay for $50 and paid $10 to cut it instead.

All keys are made of brass, if u dont believe me try to see if a magnet attracts your keys. Audi key like all other euro keys is cut with a router like tool. I work for a locksmith and we cut the keys for 40$ (not including programing).

If you must call a non franchised locksmith, be careful. Listen to how they answer the phone. Do they answer it with their company name or do they just say, “Hello?” If they don’t use a company name it is probably a very good hint that you are dealing with a scammer

I found a locksmith in south Jersey that did it though, Haddon Locksmith in Oaklyn, NJ. It cost $30 for a cut key, no programming. You still need to go to the dealer to get it programmed to your immo.
